Schmalkalden Youth Futuring Workshop 2024

Workshop

In Schmalkalden, we created designs for place-based future scenarios tailored to the specific conditions, challenges, and potentials of the rural area of Thuringia, Germany. The project uses speculative signage to make possible developments visible and to stimulate discussion. The ideas were developed and deepened through multigenerational exchanges with youth and older adults living in Schmalkalden. In this way, international perspectives meet local voices, questions, and visions, opening up new ways of looking at the future. The project was a collaboration with BUKS and Matter+Meta.
